IT FLOWS FROM THE POLAR PLATEAU EASTWARD PAST THE SOUTH FLANK OF RAWSON MOUNTAIN OF THE QUEEN MAUD MOUNTAIN RANGE AND JOINS THE ROBERT SCOTT GLACIER NEAR ITS IN ABOUT 86° 50' S, 153° 30' W. IT WAS DISCOVERED BY THE BYRD ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION II GEOLOGICAL PARTY UNDER QUINN BLACKBURN AND NAMED BY ADMIRAL RICHARD E. BYRD FOR THOMAS C. POULTER, SECOND IN COMMAND OF THE EXPEDITION. THE GLACIER IS AT AN ELEVATION OF ABOUT 8,000 FEET AND IS 180 MILES FROM THE SOUTH POLE.
